Learning Through Play
At Bottesford Pre-School, your child’s play is supported and extended in a friendly and caring environment where children are valued as individuals who learn and develop at different rates. The learning and development opportunities and experiences we offer follow the themes and principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
We have a continuous provision of toys, resources and activities in a wide range of areas including maths, mark-making, construction, role-play and messy play. Our outside space provides children with opportunities for exploring and learning about the world around them. There are areas for growing fruit and vegetables; digging and investigation; a treehouse, mud kitchen and natural materials to spark imaginative role-play, and a large grassed area for runninng and sports actvities.
We follow the children's interests, supporting and extending their play with resources and adult interaction. In conjunction with the children’s own exploration and child-initiated play, we plan adult-led focused activities to enhance our continuous provision and support children's development.
Your child’s key person will talk to you about what your child has been doing and details of our activities are on the visual timetable in the hall. We also regularly post updates on our Facebook page, here on our website (see News) and in our termly newsletter.
